Input Media’s FA Cup digital clips service reaches 46 million social media views

All 32 matches made available as world feeds

Input Media’s new digital clips service for the FA Cup third round has reached 46 million views on social media.

The sports production company made all 32 matches available as world feeds for The FA’s international rights-holders, staging the broadcast operation from its London production centre using an 80-strong production and technical crew.

Match commentaries were added to all 32 matches, either from the production centre or from the 21 outside broadcast facilities contracted to provide match coverage around the country.

Additionally, a standalone FA Cup Superfeed was created, showing a continuous, eight-hour highlights programme. Further highlights edits were delivered on two rolling clips channels for the BBC to use on Match of the Day.

Input Media MD Neil Oughton said: “The FA Cup was a great demonstration of our in-house expertise and ability to seamlessly create content for both traditional TV and online platforms at the same time.

“The results highlight the superb editorial instinct and professionalism of our production and technical teams, who worked under pressure to provide comprehensive world feeds from all games, and select the best clips for digital distribution while overcoming the logistical challenges involved in delivering such an ambitious project.”
