IMD selects AmberFin iCR

IMD, a media logistics specialist for the advertising, broadcast and online publishing industries, has selected the AmberFin iCR standards converter to provide a multiformat workflow environment for SD and HD content.

IMD, a media logistics specialist for the advertising, broadcast and online publishing industries, has selected the AmberFin iCR standards converter to provide a multiformat workflow environment for SD and HD content.

“There is a trend in the major advertising markets towards HD broadcasting and our clients increasingly want to be able to deliver HDTV commercials to broadcasters cost-effectively and on time, without the need for expensive physical tapes,” said Ross Priestley, Director of Business development at IMD. “With a solid industry reputation, AmberFin stands out as a clear leader for broadcast quality, as well as providing a robust and flexible solution that will readily integrate with our current systems and ensure a roadmap for future innovations.”

“Germany leads the way in choosing delivery of native HD commercials rather than accepting the inferior conversion of existing SD ads,” he continued. “IMD has recently made its first live HD deliveries to the major German broadcasters. We anticipate other major markets to move to HD delivery during 2011 and our relationship with AmberFin helps us to provide this.”

AmberFin CTO, Bruce Devlin, (pictured) commented: “We are pleased to be working alongside IMD as a European powerhouse for media delivery. AmberFin iCR allows IMD to streamline workflow for SD and HD format delivery to broadcasters working to tight deadlines, whilst maintaining high-quality content. The AmberFin team worked closely with IMD to ensure that the full range of formats needed by clients would be available, including the increasingly popular AVC-Intra format.”
