Icelandic National Broadcaster, RUV, used a ChyronHego end-to-end BlueNet graphics workflow for its coverage of the Parliamentary Election that took place in the country at the end of April.
Broadcasting live from RUV headquarters at Efstaleiti 1 in Reykjavik, production staff relied exclusively on ChyronHego’s LEX³˙¹ and MicroX³˙¹ on-air graphics systems to drive real-time Lyric-generated bar graphs, pie charts, and up-to-the-minute ticker information throughout the 12-hour broadcast. In addition, RUV used ChyronHego’s iPad app, Shotbox for Lyric, to push interactive graphics to air direct from an iPad.
“ChyronHego’s products demonstrated an exceptional level of key reliability and versatility allowing us to take our election graphics and on-air presentation to a new level with powerful rendering engines and easy-to use applications such as Lyric PRO for scriptless graphics creation,” said Saevar Jóhannesson, head of design at RUV. “The star of the show was the ShotBox for Lyric app that gave our presenter the flexibility to easily manipulate impressive pie-chart graphics on the iPad and take them live to air quickly.”
“ChyronHego offers custom-built election graphics packages with a range of workflow tools, graphics creation and second screen applications to help broadcasters worldwide enhance live coverage, improve ratings and tell great stories,” said Paul Glasgow, vice president of EMEA sales at ChyronHego. “Together with our local systems integrator, Exton, we provided RUV with ongoing project management, creative services and onsite support for this important event; the end result was truly dynamic.”
