IBC2012: Signiant to present Media Shuttle

Signiant has released its new Media Shuttle file delivery solution. Media Shuttle's cloud connector technology gives media workgroups the convenience and ease of use of public cloud-based file-sharing services, but without file size limits or the security risk associated with storing high-value assets in the cloud.

Signiant has released its new Media Shuttle file delivery solution, including a free 14-day trial. Introduced at the 2012 NAB Show, Media Shuttle’s patent-pending cloud connector technology gives media workgroups the convenience and ease of use of public cloud-based file-sharing services, but without file size limits or the security risk associated with storing high-value assets in the cloud. Monthly subscription-based pricing makes Media Shuttle an ideal solution for production projects, and lets organisations easily scale usage as needed. An effective alternative to FTP or unmanaged point-to-point file transfer products for moving large media files, Media Shuttle offers the same industry-leading security and acceleration protocols for high-speed file transfers as Signiant’s enterprise infrastructure products. Unlike services that store content in the public cloud, Media Shuttle provides an easy-to-use interface in the cloud but keeps content within the secure control of the enterprise network – with centralised visibility of transfers, including job status, bandwidth usage and user activity. “Designed with extensive market feedback, Media Shuttle is the perfect solution for any size of media operation – from small post houses with little or no IT staff of their own to large media enterprises looking to reduce the IT support requirements for large numbers of internal and external users,” said Rick Clarkson, vice president of Product Management at Signiant. “Media Shuttle lets operations managers create powerful file delivery environments with no restrictions on file size while IT professionals have the peace of mind that the organisation’s content is safe and secure.” Media Shuttle is available immediately in two versions: Media Shuttle Standard Edition, a downloadable, single-portal solution for project teams up to 50; and Media Shuttle Enterprise, a multiportal solution scalable to thousands. Easy-to-use branding tools enable media operations or project leaders to customise their own file transfer portal with graphics and logos, configure notifications and language settings, and invite users to become instantly productive. Building on the capabilities of Media Shuttle Standard, Media Shuttle Enterprise Edition is designed to ease enterprise IT support requirements with added features for delegated administration, pooled user access, storage management and server load balancing to ensure optimal performance across multiple file transfer portals. 14.621
