Hungary’s TV2 installs SGL for digital upgrade project

Hungarian commercial broadcaster TV2 has invested in an SGL FlashNet archive as a key element of its digital upgrade project. The solution was installed by systems integrator Snitt Studio with the aim of improving and simplifying workflow processes.

SGL FlashNet will assist TV2 operations with the delivery of a number of core functions including input to the transmission archive using a watch folder workflow; output from the transmission archive using Snell’s Morpheus Archive Controller; archive and restore functionality for its Avid Interplay production environment; and the ability to archive news material from both Harris and Octopus NRCS’ using internal development based on SGL’s XML API.

Sandor Molnar, TV2 Hungary’s CTO said: ”We’re delighted with the SGL archive, which has allowed us to totally modernise our workflow, reducing time constraints and costs. The FlashNet integration with Avid Interplay is seamless and the integration that we completed in-house between FlashNet and the Harris and Octopus NCRS was straightforward, providing us with a fully integrated news workflow.”

Raj Patel (pictured), SGL’s product manager, added: “Available to all broadcast vendors, our XML API allows companies like TV2 to use specific FlashNet programme commands within their own applications. With a comprehensive understanding of third-party products SGL and our partners can create a truly open system to provide customers with more effective, efficient and integrated solutions.”
