Harris has opened a new worldwide HQ in Ireland for Harris Broadcast Communication’s multiviewer technology operations, writes Fergal Ringrose.

Harris multiviewers have recently moved from the former Zandar Technologies office to a larger Harris office in Dublin. The new office houses a growing technology, sales and marketing operation, with pre- and post-sales engineering resources, along with administrative staff for accepting orders and structuring logistics.

A laboratory equipped with test equipment and service inventory allows Harris to better service its multiviewer solutions base. The facility also includes conference and training rooms for Harris staff and customers. Pictured raising a glass to the launch last week were Harris Broadcast EMEA VP, Richard Scott, and Deirdre Smith, director multiviewer product line management.

“When Irish company Zandar Technologies was acquired in 2007, Harris completed its multiviewer portfolio by incorporating the Zandar technology and expertise into its existing R&D, technical and sales teams,” said Tim Thorsteinson, president of Harris Broadcast Communications. “For that reason, the Irish location became the obvious choice when it came to selecting a worldwide base for our multiviewer operation. The opening of the new Irish office confirms our strong commitment to our multiviewer customers.”

“The Harris brand is very well-established worldwide, with more than 50 years of history and tradition supporting the broadcast industry,” said Deirdre Smith. “We are delighted that the Ireland-based multiviewer operation has now become central to the company’s worldwide strategy, especially during this challenging time in the Irish and worldwide economies.”
