Beyond HD Masters 2013 is less than two weeks away, and Gold Sponsor ARRI has just confirmed a panel appearance. Director of Group Business Development Milan Krsljanin will take part in the discussion ‘4K recorded programming: Technical and creative issues.’

ARRI has almost 100 years of experience in providing creative and technical solutions for motion picture, television and commercial productions on a global scale. The company has been part of major feature films including Skyfall, Avengers Assemble and Iron Man 3, which have appeared on IMAX screens and were also released as 4K, 2K DCPS and in HD.

ARRI uses ALEXA Digital Motion Picture Cameras and uncompressed ARRIRAW workflow to aid filmmakers and producers to fulfill their goals. The company believes in the importance of picture quality over pixel count, to ensure audiences have an immersive experience when watching ALEXA captured content.

Beyond HD Masters 2013 takes place on Tuesday 11 June at BAFTA, and ARRI will be demonstrating the visual benefits of Extended Dynamic Range, in addition to Krsljanin’s appearance on one of the panels. He will be joined by Richard Mills, chief technology officer, ONSIGHT, and Philip Willis, professor of Computing and director, Centre for Digital Entertainment, University of Bath. The panel discussion will focus on a number of issues surrounding the increasing number of 4K-acquired TV productions. Should TV producers be mastering in 4K for archive? What budget premiums are there for 4K production and where are those costs incurred? Should post facilities be investing in greater storage and fatter Ethernet pipes today? How is 4K content professionally monitored?

More information on this discussion and other topics can be found on the conference agenda published online.

By attending the conference, you can hear from industry experts on subjects such as Ultra-HD, emerging standards, whether the fate of 3DTV is linked with 4K and much more.
