Gearhouse Broadcast has made what it refers to as a “sizable investment” in the purchase of 30 BVP E30 WSPH Sony Cameras for its Rental Division. The purchase has been made to meet the demand from Gearhouse Broadcast Rental clients who form an expanding mix of Studios and Outside Broadcast companies. “There is still a lot of content being shot in SD and we believe that there will be for the next few years,” said Eamonn Dowdall managing director at Gearhouse Broadcast, writes Fergal Ringrose.
The BVP-E30WSPH model is the 16:9/4:3 switchable aspect ratio version of the new BVP-E30 camera family for studio and outside broadcast applications. It combines high picture quality and comprehensive control functions at lower cost than conventional broadcast cameras.
The investment forms part of an inventory update for Gearhouse, upgrading the 550s to Sony’s state of the art BVP E30 WSPH model which is perceived by Dowdall to be a workhorse, reliable and fit for purpose camera. It will sit alongside the company’s HD range of cameras including the Sony HDC 1500 and HDC 3000 models.
The Rental Division at Gearhouse has also just taken delivery of a substantial quantity of Canon lenses including XJ100s, XJ86s, XJ75s, XJ22s, and XJ27s.
