Fruition uses TriCaster at Animal Planet launch

Event production and online TV production company, Fruition, has employed a NewTek TriCaster live production system in its live coverage of the Manchester Pet Show.

Event production and online TV production company, Fruition, has employed a NewTek TriCaster live production system in its live coverage of the Manchester Pet Show.

Discovery Channel used the Manchester Pet Show, which ran from 7 – 8 September, as a vehicle to launch their new Animal Planet season. Fruition provided live-streamed and recorded interviews and presentations that ran live at the show and online.

Mark Tasker, director, Fruition Premier, said, “When we won the contract to develop the live show element of the Manchester Pet Show, we approached Discovery Channel to suggest a collaboration with their launch of the new season of Animal Planet. We showed them examples of other events and online TV shows that we had produced using the TriCaster, and they were very excited by the possibilities and keen to get involved.”

Animal Planet presenter, Nick Baker, hosted the event, interviewing several producers about how they made their programmes, which included Snow Leopards of Leafy London, Monkey Life and Animal Airport.

Fruition Premier recorded the stage activity into the TriCaster as well as tasters of new episodes and new idents and bumpers provided by Discovery. The content was then fed to the big screens around the event venue, and was also live streamed to the Manchester Pet Show website. Fruition will also provide Discovery Channel with the content for its own use.

Tasker continues, “We are longtime users and fans of the TriCaster system, it has proved itself absolutely ideal for all manner of live events coverage and online TV shows, from festivals to internal communications. The TriCaster enables us to provide our corporate clients with content that looks as polished and professional as broadcast television but within their budget. The high quality output also allows us to approach broadcasters like Discovery Channel, because they can see that we will make their event look great. To be able to produce an entire programme on location and play it out from one system, without the need for an OB truck, is fantastic.”
