The second season of Amazon Prime’s The Rings of Power has begun filming at Bray Film Studios.
The studios were established in 1951 as the original home of Hammer Films and housed the production of The Curse of Frankenstein, Dracula and The Mummy, and has more recently hosted production on The King’s Man, Rocketman and Mamma Mia 2: Here We Go Again.
Last year the studios announced it was undergoing a multi-million pound redevelopment to build nine sound stages, workshops, and production support facilities.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, filming on season two of the drama, which will be eight episodes long, began yesterday. There has been speculation the show will employ virtual production to emulate the scenery from the show’s first season, which was shot exclusively in New Zealand.
Production on season two will return to New Zealand, with Bray serving as the main production hub. It is also expected to shoot some scenes in Edinburgh.
The first season of The Rings of Power is drawing to a close on Amazon Prime, with two episodes set to debut.
