As reported in TVB Europe last week (here) FIFA has terminated its relationship with Swiss company Aruna Media AG in respect of 3D public viewing rights for the 2010 FIFA World Cup, writes Adrian Pennington.

According to a statement posted on FIFA’s website: “The exploitation of such rights is now being handled directly by FIFA. Aruna Media no longer has any entitlement to deal with the 3D public viewing rights or any other FIFA rights.”

Technology provider Sensio is now working directly with FIFA which will use Sensio’s 3D transmission to deliver the broadcast of eight matches to Sensio’s network of 3D-enabled cinemas worldwide.
