Fast Turnaround conference workflows to feature The X Factor final

High profile live ‘event television’ remains the toughest challenge for broadcast workflows, and so it is right that the first ever Fast Turnaround TV conference should include a strong focus on the latest efforts.

High profile live ‘event television’ remains the toughest challenge for broadcast workflows, and so it is right that the first ever Fast Turnaround TV conference should include a strong focus on the latest efforts. Andrew Ioannou is director of strategy, technology, platforms and business delivery at ITV, the UK’s leading independent broadcaster. He will deliver a keynote address at the conference on adding value to these high profile pressurised productions. In it he will reference the 2011 live final of television’s world-famous hit factory, The X Factor. ITV is the UK’s largest advertising-funded broadcaster. Its production division, ITV Studios, makes more hours of network television than any other commercial producer in the country. The broadcaster has long been a pioneer in using online and interactive services to complement its broadcast output, delivering a stronger commercial proposition and greater audience engagement. In his presentation Ioannou will explore the development of an integrated strategy for ITV to meet the business, operational and technical needs across business units and platforms, broadcast playout, content acquisition, processing, management and delivery, and rights and scheduling. He will also look at how ITV is harnessing convergence and show how online content, mobile devices, social media and micropayments all have their part to play in creating added value in must-see television events. The Fast Turnaround TV conference, presented by TVBEurope and chaired by John Ive, will be held on 13 March at the Soho Hotel in London. www.fastturnaroundtv.com
