EVS is introducing Sports360°, a new concept covering all aspects of sports media from live broadcasting to new media distribution, writes David Fox.
Sport360° aims to help content owners, broadcasters and facility companies to address multiple markets and cope with the partitioning of rights for different platforms.
To enable this, EVS will offer: enhanced live production with high-end replays, on the fly editing, new ultra motion control capabilities, overlay graphic analysis or 3D replay and super-motion operations; sports highlights and immediate media access and exchange with post-production; logging and statistics integration; mobile, web streaming and multi-channel delivery; second screen applications; and sports archive management.
Sport360° will be shown at IBC, where EVS will also demonstrate a complete set of workflow tools “offering the best of IT and broadcast technologies for news and production.”
This will include: improved NLE systems integration; new OpenCube HD/SD (its IT-based ingest server for tape and archive migration); XFConverter (a new media rewrapping and transfer system; new Lynx API and MOS gateway; and XFly streamer (which allows live streaming for up to ten HD feeds @100Mbps).
EVS will also launch CloudCast, for instant distribution of live broadcast content via dedicated web applications direct to home users.
