EditShare and Nemeton team up

Nemeton TV, Ireland’s largest production company, has been commissioned by broadcaster TG4 to provide its coverage of the Rugby World Cup. To manage the content and support the editing process, it has installed a workflow system from EditShare.
The infrastructure includes Geevs multi-channel ingest control and Flow production asset management. All the content is stored on high performance XStream servers, with Ark archiving. The system is part of a new state of the art HD studio built at Nemeton’s facility in Waterford. The workflow system supports a network of Final Cut Pro edit suites.
“Only the Olympics, football World Cup and European football championships have higher ratings than the Rugby World Cup,” explained Irial Mac Murchu, managing director of Nemeton TV. “With this level of popularity, the production gear we use to capture, produce and broadcast must be as rugged as the game itself.
“Our positive experience with EditShare, combined with their knowledge and technical capabilities to manage sports workflow from ingest to archive, gave us high confidence to equip our purpose built studio with EditShare end to end.”
The installation was by Irish systems integrator Eurotek. For them, Kevin Moore added “This was an extremely challenging and exciting project, with a fast turnaround time for the complete studio build and the workflow design.”
