DVS will present its SpycerBox Flex and SpycerBox Ultra at NAB, as well as unveiling an array of new features with version 2.2 of its award-winning Spycer content management system software. Combined with the VENICE video server, the DVS storage solution offers maximum convenience.

The SpycerBox Flex is a high-performance storage solution for film scanning, telecine and post production systems. The SOAP interface makes seamless integration into automated customer environments possible, and SpycerBox Flex offers all the functions of a complete SAN system, proving itself to be a fast and cost-effective storage solution. In the NAS version, post production houses as well as broadcasters can integrate the SpycerBox Flex into their existing storage architecture through a variety of supported high-speed interfaces. It is also available in a combination of the two versions, enabling customers to receive a highly integrated, high-performance package which reduces infrastructure expenditure.

The SpycerBox Ultra now has a capacity of 72 TB. The latest version optimises speed as well as the scalability of customer workflows by offering the opportunity to form a storage cluster solution.

The latest version 2.2 of the content management software Spycer allows fast and secure data management thanks to autoverify and dynamic bandwidth throttling and the software helps take care of various backup and archiving workflows. Mephisto, the stand-alone defragmentation tool, enables the positioning of image sequences and clips in optimal locations on the storage system while defragmenting them simultaneously.

The core of VENICE is available as a separate module which connects directly to the SpycerBox. This combination provides up to 72 TB of SATA storage with two channels using only 7 U of rackspace. Its SOAP interface, which allows access to the various applications, is a particularly efficient and effective feature.

“The DVS storage solutions are extremely popular with our customers thanks to their modularity and ease with which they can be integrated,” explains DVS’s product manager Henner Steinwede. “At this year’s NAB, we’ll be showing visitors how flexible our SpycerBox Flex solution is when it comes to implementing it – with both broadcast and post production users benefiting from the unparalleled performance of the system which they can tailor to their particular requirements on a project by project basis.” Stand SL3305
