Dublin based post production facility Egg has installed a Nucoda Film Master 4k/2k colour grading and finishing system. Delivered last month, the system has already been used to grade ‘Lapland Odyssey’ by Egg colourist Sebastian Guest and is now being used to grade two further features.

Gareth Young, Egg Owner explained: “Film Master is internationally recognised as the industry leader in realtime nonlinear grading with 2k and 4k capability. From film scans to Red it is the most advanced finishing tool available for DI movies, commercials and TV drama and documentaries. The results that we have achieved in the last few weeks are outstanding and we are the only facility in Ireland in a position to grade stereoscopic projects with a digital cinema print.”

Young concluded: “Tax breaks in Ireland are an attractive prospect for international production companies looking for ROI in a state-of-the-art facility.”

Lapland Odyssey, which was directed by Dome Karukoski with Pini Hellstedt as DoP, was shot in Lapland and is a co-produced by Ireland’s Ripple World Pictures, Finland’s Helsinki Filmi Oy and Sweden’s Anagram Produktion. A comedic road movie, the film moves through Lapland and seeks to explore the soul of a Finnish man in his pursuit of a digibox!
