The Videohouse design and system integration division, Project Builders, has built two new outside broadcast vans for DR in Denmark. It has just delivered a spacious 16-camera truck, while the second eight-camera truck is on show at IBC. The trucks use Snell Kahuna 360 vision mixers (4M/E in the 16-camera truck and 3M/E in the 8-camera truck). All monitors are HD2line Pro Class One LCDs from Penta Studiotechnik, while infrastructure came from Axon. EVS XT3 servers with LSM remote control panels and IPDirector content management software are used for ingest and live slow motion. The audio rooms in each truck are equipped with Solid State Logic C100HD broadcast consoles. Because of a high demand for redundancy, Project Builders chose a Miranda Nvision video router. For external connections the company designed a fibre system in collaboration with Nevion, so that a standard SMPTE camera cable can be used transport video, network, data and intercom signals – while the cameras are Sony HDC-2500R 1080/50p and HDC-3300R HD Supermotion models. – David FoxOE114
