dock10 announces passing of studio manager Sinead Sweeney

Sweeney was a much loved member of the dock10 team, and has been with the facility since its launch in 2011. Her colleagues have paid tribute to "one of the most trusted studio managers in the business"

Sinead Sweeney, studio manager at dock10 since its inception ten years ago, has died following a short illness. dock10 announced the death of “one of its brightest talents” this morning, and said that Sweeney passed away peacefully surrounded by friends and family in London.

“Sinead was a much-loved member of the team and will be deeply missed by everybody who worked with her,” said Mark Senior, CEO of dock10. “Her contribution to dock10 will never be forgotten, she will forever form part of our DNA. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family, friends and colleagues.”

Sweeney joined the Salford facility in 2011, and “her unique style, passion, enthusiasm, and desire to deliver the best for everyone gave her a natural ability to handle complex projects made her one of the most trusted studio managers in the business”, dock10 said in its announcement. During her career she helped deliver some of the biggest entertainment shows on television, including The Voice, 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, A Question of Sport and Dragons’ Den.

Patrick Steel, commercial director at dock10, added, “The passing of Sinead so young is a profound loss. It is hard to put into words just how special she was and the impact she had on everyone who knew her. Rest peacefully, dear Sinead: you will forever be missed.”

The thoughts of everyone at TVBEurope and Future are with Sinead’s family, friends, and colleagues at this terribly sad time.
