Digital Rapids and the IABM join as latest Silver Sponsors of ITBW

Digital Rapids and the IABM have signed up to TVBEurope’s IT Broadcast Workflow conference. The latest sponsors join Blue Lucy Media, Pebble Beach Systems and SGL as Silver Sponsors of the event.

Two more Silver Sponsors have signed up to TVBEurope’s IT Broadcast Workflow conference, taking place on Wednesday 13 June at BAFTA in central London. Digital Rapids and the International Association for Broadcasting Manufacturers (IABM) are the latest sponsors to come onboard, joining Blue Lucy Media, Pebble Beach Systems and SGL as Silver Sponsors of the event. Digital Rapids recently unveiled what is claimed to be a significant departure from other workflow technology approaches. The new Kayak transcoding and transmission platform from Digital Rapids allows users, systems integrators and software developers to design, deploy and manage customised workflows. Because only the specific processes that are required for the workflow are needed, each process is compact, fast and cost-effective. The result should be operational efficiency and agility. Kayak includes a design tool running on a web browser. Users drag and drop to create a functional signal flow, which is then processed to validate the design and select the software modules required to achieve it. Digital Rapids is looking at a number of business models, including the ability to lease modules while they are required, and to host processes in the cloud as software as a service. The company is partnering with Microsoft to make Kayak available through Windows Azure Media Services. Also supporting ITBW this year is the IABM, which will be promoting a new training course: ‘Broadcast Technology Workflows – The Fundamentals’.As today’s broadcasters deal with increasingly complex workflows, suppliers need to understand how and why those workflows are changing. The new two-day course will:•Enhance knowledge of the concepts, terms and processes•Enable you to understand how file-based workflows are forcing change across the industry•Give you the confidence to discuss and analyse workflows effectively•Ensure delegates are better equipped for marketing and selling ITBW is Europe’s premier event charting the development and adaptation of file-based operations in European broadcasting organisations.
