deltatre’s entire fleet of 16 digital sports vans is to be replaced by Sony, coachbuilder Tomassini and installation specialists CRV. The final phase of this project will be delivered by July 2012. Each new graphics van will include a 6 x 40-inch monitor wall, extensive ‘Patch Panel’ allowing connection between the van and the main Outside Broadcast (OB) unit, audio circuits for talkback to the main OB unit, a three-phase system with main and backup circuits, and deltatre computers. Carlo Lisa, director of Sales & Business Development of deltatre, said, “This latest implementation will allow deltatre to future proof its position as one of the leading digital media services companies in sports production. Working with Sony gives us access to its heritage and skill-set; we can count on solid and innovative technologies that will power the greatest sporting events in the world. Knowing that we share the same values and attention to detail reinforces our view of Sony as a partner rather than a supplier. It also reassures our customers that we will continue to meet the very strict service levels that we agree with them.” Scott Alford, senior manager, Professional Solutions, Sony said, “We are delighted to continue our long-term partnership with deltatre, following on from our first vans that we built together, we are now working on the second set of eight vehicles that will make up deltatre's entire fleet. By building the 16 vehicles in Italy, with a local team led by Daniele Cadelli and supported by Enrico Decapitani, we have been able to offer a close working partnership that allows us to respond quickly to deltatre's feedback.” www.sony.co.uk
