To meet the increasing need for slick automation of video on demand services, Miranda has introduced Enterprise Suite on Demand, an automated content publishing system. The intention is to simplify the creation of multiple content versions, with appropriate branding, for delivery to the many VoD platforms consumers use today. The system automates version mastering, encoding of deliverables, and metadata packaging through tight integration with traffic systems. The fully scalable software works as a standalone system for broadcasters with any existing playout system, or it can be paired with Miranda’s iTX playout servers to achieve the maximum benefits of workflow efficiency. Content can be automatically sourced from network storage, video servers, archive systems or ingested from videotape. Miranda’s director of product management for workflow and playout, Stéphane Blondin, said “Managing the increased workload related to VoD content generation is one of the primary concerns facing broadcasters today. Their principal challenges lie in controlling operational costs and efficiently managing large volumes of files and their associated metadata to fulfil contractual obligations. We’re helping fuse playout and digital operations and facilitating monetisation.” By integrating with existing traffic systems Enterprise Suite On Demand automates the whole process. This brings advertising sales and brand promotion across on demand platforms into the same processes already in place for linear television. Graphics capabilities can be included to ensure the branding is tailored for each delivery platform and consumer device, in a way which is relevant to non-linear viewers.
