Dalet has integrated its asset management software with the Telestream Vantage transcoding platform. Vantage also provides a file-based workflow automation backbone. The combination is intended to provide a unified approach to the preparation of content for multi-platform and multi-lingual distribution for VoD, OTT, second screen viewing and other services.
“The need for fast, efficient and automated transcoding and content delivery has never been greater,” said Raoul Cospen of Dalet. “The integration of Dalet asset management with the Vantage transcoding and workflow system offers our customers a comprehensive and automated way to create and distribute multiple versions of content.
“The Dalet MAM maintains all kinds of information and business rules, and by using these rules and datasets it drives all the different content workflow paths that are executed by Vantage. The bi-directional communication between systems makes the integration more powerful, as all of the newly created content can be linked to the original assets.”
For Telestream, Paul Turner added “Our goal is to simplify the creation of as many versions of the content with the least amount of effort. The integrations of Vantage with Dalet’s MAM streamlines the workflow by bringing essential metadata directly into the system where we transcode and prepare the content.
“Our analysis tools and other quality control steps can be applied at any point in the workflow to ensure source and output video quality. And, of course, the Dalet MAM is aware of all the processes being executed on our side. This integration brings tremendous value to the customer.”
