Cobham is to introduce Solo Micro HD, a fully featured COFDM digital video transmitter at NAB 2013. According to Cobham’s broadcast systems director Stuart Brown, the small size and low power consumption will make the Solo Micro HD an excellent choice for high mobility sporting applications. Brown said, “The freedom to go anywhere with a camera is important because it enables producers to greatly enhance sporting, ceremonial or news event coverage with innovative shot angles that are not possible with larger, wired systems. The trend in the use of wireless technology to provide on-board as well as point-of-view coverage for sports opens up vast opportunities for exciting imagery that can enable the viewer to experience the action as never before.
