Cinegy provides motor workflow

Motorvision Group, one of Europe’s leading producers of video content around motor sport and mobility, has implemented an asset management system based around Cinegy Workflow. The system was implemented by Cinegy’s German partner Videocation. Motorvision TV is available on Sky Germany and on OSN to the Middle East and north Africa. It has amassed a library of more than 20,000 hours of content on a range of formats and multiple codecs. It needed to maximise efficiency by making the content more readily available. “We were searching for an asset management solution that would allow us to store an enormous amount of material with different codecs into an archive that would then be available to support multiple interfaces, and for post production systems with different requirements and guidelines,” explained Maik Schmidt, head of post production at Motorvision. Cinegy Workflow is a modular, open platform running on standard PC hardware. It includes a suite of tools, applications and open APIs that opens up the prospect of broad access to content without being confined by a particular vendor’s proprietary system. It integrates with traditional production and post production workflows, including most non-linear editors, and can be implemented without investment in a complete new infrastructure. “Our experience is that Cinegy sets great value on the development of its software,” Schmidt added. “Through working closely with Cinegy, and giving feedback, the software is constantly becoming more powerful.”
