Broadcast Networks completes 4×4 HD truck

Systems Integration specialist Broadcast Networks recently completed the design and build of a 4-camera HD DSNG truck for the National TV and Radio Company of the Republic of Belarus (BTRC).

Systems Integration specialist Broadcast Networks recently completed the design and build of a 4-camera HD DSNG truck for the National TV and Radio Company of the Republic of Belarus (BTRC).

Designed as a dual-path digital uplink system and mounted on a 4-wheel-drive chassis, the truck is designed to go anywhere. Rugged and flexible, BTRC now deploys this new addition to its fleet at various sports and entertainment events.

The system offers full production and audio facilities, with Sony HDC-1550 HD cameras and a PDW-F800 XDCAM HD camcorder with Link Research wireless system; a Sony MFS-2000 multiformat switcher, Evertz EQT 32×32 video router and a Yamaha DM1000 digital audio console. Uplink facilities include CPI Satcom amplifiiers, Tandberg encoders and Newtec up-converters. The vehicle is able to operate autonomously with an on-board 24KVA generator and crane.

Working in close partnership with Sony Professional Services, the project was completed in a challenging build-schedule of just 24 days.

“The Broadcast Networks team has a proven track record of building high quality DSNG trucks,” says Dmitry Shilo, BTRC’s technical director. “They clearly understood our operational requirements and have delivered to us a vehicle which not only provides excellent production facilities and a comfortable workspace, but one that can also cope with the most harsh climates and terrains. Our schedule was intense. Broadcast Networks met this challenge and completed the project within the 24-day window, without compromising standards. This was a great achievement and we are delighted with the results.”

“BTRC brought some unique challenges to the table, both in terms of system design and project timings,” says Tom Haye, Managing Director of Broadcast Networks. “Our customers rely on our technical expertise and innovative design solutions to meet their needs, and our strong project-management to meet their deadlines. This project was one of just seventeen vehicles we have successfully completed and delivered in 2010.”
