Broadcast Microwave Services (BMS) has revealed that it will be putting several products on display at NAB including its film-making Video Assist Kit and its NT5723SDHD Extreme wireless transmitter. The Video Assist Kit is a system used in film-making which allows filmmakers to view a video version of a take immediately after it is filmed. The signal from the camera’s own video output is of a significantly higher quality than the original video tap technology because HD cameras can output HD-SDI video signals. Also on display will be the NT5723SDHD Extreme transmitter, which BMS suggests is a ‘no-compromise’ wireless transmitter which is the closest alternative to a wired HD camera. It is suited for OB applications, live events, professional sports, and Mobile SD/HD transmission for DENG (Digital Electronic News Gathering). The transmitter is low power consumption and features one-frame latency (end-to-end), COFDM 2k transmission, 8MHz bandwidth, and a frequency range of 5.725 to 5.850 GHz.
