AWS Elemental MediaConvert adds support for enhanced colour processing

MediaConvert can generate Dolby Vision dynamic metadata for on-the-fly jobs to convert non-Dolby Vision HDR content into Dolby Vision

Amazon Web Services has announced AWS Elemental MediaConvert now has enhanced colour processing features along with support for new colour formats.

MediaConvert can generate Dolby Vision dynamic metadata for on-the-fly jobs to convert non-Dolby Vision HDR content into Dolby Vision, without the need for a colour mastering suite and content-specific colour grading, said AWS.

MediaConvert also supports the DCI-P3 colour space, commonly used for colour grading content destined for final distribution in both HDR and SDR formats.

Users can set the reference white point when mapping SDR colour values into the HDR space during format conversions. MediaConvert has added the ability to apply colour range clipping in the colour corrector to ensure outputs remain within broadcast legal limits.
