Avid’s new content data platform aims to break down silos and ‘give full visibility across a business’

Avid Content Core is a content data platform that connects teams and systems across editorial, operational, and business domains

Avid has unveiled a new data-driven content platform, which aims to enable post production teams to produce and publish content more efficiently.

Avid Content Core uses artificial intelligence and agentic workflows to “transform content from static files into intelligent, connected, actionable data,” said the company.

Avid added that the platform accelerates creative output while delivering “the scalable infrastructure and data intelligence” media companies need to streamline operations, increase content value, and adapt to rapidly evolving audience demands.

“Our mission is to break down silos and give full visibility across a business,” Danny Hollingsworth, director of post production product marketing at Avid, tells TVBEurope.

The company describes Avid Content Core as a content data platform that connects teams and systems across editorial, operational, and business domains in order to support collaborative content production, distribution and monetisation.

Every asset ingested into the platform receives a unique fingerprint, enabling users to authenticate provenance, track usage, and measure ROI

Avid Content Core has been in concept for a few years, but 2025 marked the real acceleration point, says Hollingsworth. “This year, it moved into full design and development, reflecting our shift to moving faster as a business and bringing a bold new vision to the industry.”

The platform uses artificial intelligence to power its semantic search and recommendation engine, enabling rapid natural language discovery across assets wherever they are.

“Equally important is our API-first, extensible approach,” adds Hollingsworth. “This means Avid, partners, and customers can plug in AI capabilities as the space evolves. A great example is a proof-of-concept agentic workflow using AI to connect Content Core with Avid Media Composer and automatically generate a sequence based on a simple search. We built it from idea to delivery rapidly, a task that could traditionally take months with multiple vendors and complex integrations.”

At IBC, Avid will be showcasing what’s coming at launch in 2026, but the company already has a clear roadmap into 2027, with new capabilities delivered continuously.

“This isn’t only for large broadcast and enterprise customers. We’re building features that will eventually make Avid Content Core exciting and accessible to smaller creative teams who previously couldn’t afford or manage these kinds of capabilities. IBC2025 is just the beginning, and Content Core will only grow more exciting from here,” states Hollingsworth.
