As part of efforts to deliver on the Avid Everywhere strategic vision and address the growing pressures facing organisations in the media industry, Avid has announced the next phase in the evolution of the Avid MediaCentral Platform and the availability of new Avid Media Suite Modules that run on top of it.
The MediaCentral Platform supports the media value chain with the aim of connecting creative professionals and media organisations with their audiences in more powerful, efficient, collaborative, and profitable ways. It is designed to streamline and simplify workflows by integrating all products and services that run on top of it. It enables customers to create and deliver content with the Avid and third-party solutions they choose to use.
New Avid Media Suite modules that operate on the MediaCentral Platform are now available to purchase. The new Media Director and Media Index modules, along with Media Distribute, are designed to accelerate production and distribution workflows, enabling organisations to lower production costs.
The MediaCentral Platform provides shared services including a connectivity toolkit, allowing customers to customise workflows by adding the tools and services they need; orchestration services, designed to take care of tasks to boost performance and efficiency, as well as help customers make data-driven decisions about how to deploy and expand their platform; and centralised media playback services, allowing users to stream audio and video content housed on Avid ISIS storage.
