Building on its existing server control software, Arvato has now introduced ClipJockey Server, an ActiveX plug-in for newsroom systems, to put direct server control onto the desktop. The component is available for Annova Systems OpenMedia, Avid iNews, ENPS, Octopus and other newsroom systems. The core ClipJockey product is Windows software which provides direct control for up to 12 server channels and two VTRs from one screen or hardware control panel. It is format independent and is available for Grass Valley K2, Harris Nexio, Omneon and Quantel servers. The new plug-in was designed for broadcast facilities that require direct video server access from the newsroom for editorial purposes. It can be used on its own or with the ClipJockey production tool. The system allows video content to be moved to the rundown, quickly providing an overview of all the clips on the server. Content can be moved using drag and drop, and playlists are automatically updated. A trial version of the plug-in can be downloaded from www.clipjockey.tv.
