Following a beta test programme, ARRI has officially launched its Camera Companion App aiming to provide users with personalised camera control via a customisable interface.
The app enables remote control of single or multiple ALEXA 35, ALEXA Mini LF, ALEXA Mini, AMIRA, and ALEXA 265 cameras.
Available on the Apple Store, the solution offers two subscription options designed to streamline on-set workflows for camera crews and DITs, said the company.
The standard model enables comprehensive control of one or two ARRI cameras while the premium subscription includes unlimited camera and MIDI support, lens control via cforce lens motors, sensor sync shift, CDL control for live grading and video parameter control (for ALEXA Mini and AMIRA cameras).
Users can select either a predefined layout or drag and drop control files into a custom layout. Unlimited user buttons can be assigned to any camera function with the Premium subscription enabling the interface to be organised into multiple tabs for use with different cameras or shooting situations, or assigning functions such as playback control into a specific tab.
A free demo version enables basic single-camera control with menu access and trial periods for both paid options, allowing users to ascertain which model best meets their needs.
