AP Global Media Services (GMS), has revealed that it will have five stand-up locations available for broadcasters to use for their coverage of the birth of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s baby. This will provide broadcasters from around the world with the opportunity to cover this international media event in a cost effective way.

At each of the five stand-up locations, broadcasters will be able to make use of multiple live stand-up positions, multi-format tape play out facilities and international delivery via AP’s satellite and fibre networks. The AP GMS team of technicians and producers will also be on hand to provide editorial support for broadcast clients. Locations include Buckingham Palace and St. Mary’s Hospital Lindo Wing (pictured). The Duchess of Cambridge is due to give birth to her first baby at the hospital this month.

Jeremy Custance, the head of Special Events EMEA at AP, said: “The birth of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s first baby will undoubtedly be a major international news event. It comes in the wake of a spate of major news events in London, including the Royal Wedding and Olympics. At each of these events, the AP’s GMS team provided live stand-up locations offering unrivalled logistical, technical and editorial support to international broadcasters. This means our broadcast customers can concentrate on delivering high quality, live coverage to their viewers back home without the expense and hassle of providing their own production team and facilities.”
