AMPAS establishes Production and Technology branch

New branch members include chief technology officers, senior department heads in technology and creative services, colourists and preservation and restoration specialists

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has announced it has created a new branch for members working in key technical and production positions in all phases of filmmaking, from pre- to post production.

Branch members include chief technology officers, senior department heads in technology and creative services, and preservation and restoration specialists, said the Academy.

Colourists, line producers and associate producers will also be members of the branch, alongside stunt coordinators, script supervisors, choreographers, and music supervisors.

The Production and Technology Branch brings the Academy to 18 branches representing all facets of the film industry. One branch member will be elected to the Board of Governors for the 2023-2024 fiscal year.
