Alan Bright joins Beyond HD Masters panel

Presteigne Charter director of Operations Alan Bright has been confirmed as a panellist at Beyond HD Masters, taking place on 11 June at BAFTA. Bright will be taking part in the panel, ‘Production Issues: Trialling 4K live.’

Bright worked at the BBC as an engineer, studio technical co-ordinator and consultant in the Entertainment Department, moving to BBC Outside Broadcasts for senior operation management and commercial roles.

In 2010 he was also the project director on the Commonwealth Games, held in Delhi, and was responsible for the delivery of the entire Host Production. He joined Presteigne Charter in 2012 and is responsible for engineering and global operations.

He will be joined on the panel by Peter Sykes, Strategic Technology manager, AV Media, Sony Professional Solutions, and speaker Brian Clark, Commercial and Technical Projects director, NEP Visions. Are we leaping from HD 1080i transmissions straight to 4K, skipping out 1080p 50/60? If so, what does it take in terms of technology and investment to acquire, process and get live events to air in 4K? These questions and more will be discussed on the panel: information on this discussion and other topics can be found on the conference agenda published online.

Delegate places are open for booking. Register now to attend this year’s Beyond HD Masters conference at BAFTA.
