Adobe’s Premier Pro uses AI to match colours

Creative Cloud update also enhances sound, animation, graphics, immersive content

Adobe has announced a major update to Adobe Creative Cloud which includes new capabilities for refining colour, creating graphics and crafting audio, along with enhanced VR tools, and advanced artificial intelligence powered by Adobe Sensei.

Editors will now be able to work on one shot and Colour Match will apply any changes to other shots as editable colour adjustments.

The new Face Detection tool looks at skin tones in the target images when it goes to match. To further help with colour correction, Adobe is employing a split view so users can see colour graded shots side-by-side or by using a wipe slider.

The update also includes Video Limiter that will help editors ensure their shows conform to broadcast standards.

Other updates will allow users to:

– Employ Sensei to automatically adjust soundtrack audio around dialogue, whether for a single clip or an entire project.

– Animate personas more quickly and efficiently with a library of behaviours and custom triggers in Character Animator.

– Adobe Immersive Environment is now available in After Effects CC, simplifying the immersive workflow to move more efficiently through clean-up and effects tasks.

“The demands and pace of video content creation are reaching levels we’ve never seen before. The time pressure on video professionals means the need for powerful and efficient creative tools has never been greater,” said Steven Warner, vice president of digital video and audio at Adobe.

“Adobe video apps like Premiere Pro and After Effects give them that power which, combined with the services available in Creative Cloud, provides broadcasters, media companies, filmmakers and YouTubers a complete ecosystem to bring their stories to screen faster than ever.”
