Active Storage mMEDIA platform launches in European market

Active Storage has celebrated the European debut of the new mMedia platform, a complete end-to-end workflow storage solution for post and broadcast production.

Active Storage has celebrated the European debut of the new mMedia platform, a complete end-to-end workflow storage solution for post and broadcast production. The mMedia platform consists of an enhanced ActiveSAN high-performance metadata controller appliance, mRAID (pictured) and mVault, also celebrating their European debut, and optimised management software. The mMedia platform was shown for the first time in Europe on the BVExpo show floor in London, on Global Distribution’s stand. The new mRAID storage provides the mMedia platform with a state-of-the-art storage processing engine, CrossFlow cooling system, a new hot-swappable Environmental Processing Engine (ENV) and 48TB of storage capacity with throughput, low latency and management software. The new mVault high-density, near-line archive expansion system provides the mMedia platform by packing a staggering 180TB in a highly efficient enclosure using only 4U of rack space, providing reliable data paths to keep archived content safe and accessible, and increasing overall SAN performance with lower total cost of ownership (TCO) for archive. With scalable performance and capacity, the mMedia platform allows content producers to deploy custom storage solutions with the integration and management software that lets them choose the best production tools in the industry, resulting in a complete media creation storage platform for storing and managing content from ingest to archive. “mMedia is the platform of the future for broadcast production,” said Alex Grossman, founder and president of Active Storage. “mMedia provides an integrated workflow storage platform with the performance, scalability and configuration flexibility to meet nearly every broadcast and post production facility’s ingest, online and near-line archive needs.” “The announcement of mMedia is extremely exciting as for the first time users have a comprehensive storage platform that goes beyond the feature-set and workflow integration that storage infrastructures have typically offered,” said Keith Warburton, director, Global Distribution. “mMedia brings everything in to one solution, providing a performance and workflow-tuned environment for creative, content rich productions, all with the ease of use, speed of deployment and professional support Active Storage have become renowned for worldwide.” www.activestorage.com
