Sony Europe has announced the acquisition of Memnon Archiving Services, a Brussels-based company providing a service in the field of digitisation and digital archive preservation.
Memnon’s archiving services and technologies coupled with Sony’s extensive workflow and media solutions and leadership position in the broadcast industry will create new market opportunities for advanced media asset management and digitisation solutions for media companies, broadcasters and institutions around the world.

This is an ideal extension to Sony’s Media Lifecycle Service and current worldwide portfolio of AV and IT solutions, enhancing an already impressive offering of asset digitisation, storage, distribution and monetisation capabilities.”

Sony’s acquisition of Memnon Archiving Services is effective as of 1 July and will include all assets, including Intellectual Properties Rights as well as their technology and software solutions engineering capabilities. Memnon will become a part of Sony Professional, Sony Europe.
