Dave Robinson, the long-serving editor of PSNEurope, is to step down from his role after almost 19 years of service on 16th June.
Robinson will be succeeded by Daniel Gumble who currently serves as news editor of Music Week and formerly held senior editorial positions with MI Pro and Audio Pro International (now Audio Media International). Dan takes up his new post on 26th June.
The departing Robinson said, “Man and boy, practically, I’ve worked on Pro Sound News Europe/PSNEurope. Almost 19 years. Yes, really. And, during that time, I like to think I’ve done OK.
“But it’s time for new blood, and a reinvigorated vision. I couldn’t be happier that the more-than-capable Dan Gumble will be taking on the legacy of PSNEurope. I wish him all the very best in, surely, one of the greatest – and most fun – roles to have in this industry.”
Robinson joined Pro Sound News as assistant editor in 1998 before assuming the editorship in late 2000.
“Long-serving editors like Dave are becoming a rarer commodity these days, and we will certainly miss the knowledge and experience he takes with him,” said James McKeown, content director at NewBay. “He has been the driving force behind the success of the market-leading PSNEurope title for the past 19 years, and he deserves an immense amount of credit for the service he has given to the brand.
“On behalf of everyone at NewBay, I wish Dave the best of luck in his future endeavours.”
Editor in waiting, Dan Gumble, said, “I am absolutely delighted to be joining Pro Sound News Europe. For decades PSNE has been the industry’s leading publication and I can’t wait to start working with the team.”
Gumble will remain with Music Week until 23rd June before officially taking the reins at PSNE on Monday 26th June. “The brand is in a great place to develop into the future, and Dan is the ideal person to come in and lead the title in the next phase of its evolution,” McKeown continued.
“His appointment as PSNE editor completes his journey through NewBay’s pro audio and music stable, and I am very much looking forward to working with Dan as he puts his own stamp on the title.”
