Metus INGEST now integrated with FileCatalyst

Metus has announced the integration of its media workflow system with FileCatalyst Direct, an accelerated file transfer solution, created by Ottawa, Canada based Unlimi-Tech Software Inc.

Metus has announced the integration of its media workflow system with FileCatalyst Direct, an accelerated file transfer solution, created by Ottawa, Canada based Unlimi-Tech Software Inc., an Emmy Award winning pioneer in managed file transfers. With the integration of FileCatalyst, Metus INGEST users can now transfer files at the highest speed over local networks and the internet.
Metus INGEST is a multi-channel capture tool for use in multi-camera, multi-source environments. With this new integration, files recorded to local storage can be transferred to remote storage, enabling the fast flow of data into post production or central archives. Transfers of complete files, or clips split into multiple slices, can start immediately after the recording has completed.

INGEST’s transfer feature previously supported two target types: local or share path and FTP address. Now INGEST is integrated with FileCatalyst to provide transfer rates of up to 10Gbps, which is hundreds of times faster than standard file share and FTP protocols. As download accelerators speed up download operations and reduce the download time, FileCatalyst can dramatically increase file transfer rates and shorten the transfer times. Users can simply select the FileCatalyst Server as the target in Transfer Settings in the INGEST Storage Management Settings, and enter the server credentials. INGEST will then use FileCatalyst as the backend for file transfer operations.

“With this integration, Metus INGEST will provide the transfer speed that today’s workgroups need. This accelerates project workflows and makes life much easier for our customers” said Mustafa Yilmaz, managing director of METUS.
