IDX launches CW-F25 wireless HD video system

Beamforming Technology, Dynamic Frequency Selection and Adaptive Variable Bit Rate used to maintain link quality

IDX has launched the CW-F25, a wireless HD video system for on-air contribution that transmits H.264 high profile video at up to 25Mbps. The system uses Dynamic Frequency Selection (DFS) – which automatically chooses the best available Wi-Fi channel – to maintain the resilience of the link.

Beamforming Technology is also used between the transmitter and receiver, limiting interference from other users while Adaptive Variable Bit Rate prevents sudden ‘black screen’ disconnection. As it based on the 5GHz band (IEEE 802.11n), the CW-F25 can be used without a licence in Europe.

“With the benefits of image quality, reliability and ease of use combined together in a cost-effective, cable-free package, IDX is confident that potential users will want to see the CW-F25 in action,” the company said.

To mix with wired camera systems, four 4MIMO channels are used with ODFM/64QAM modulation achieving a maximum data rate of 300Mbps. This supports H.264 at 25Mbps high profile video with four channels of embedded PCM audio. Return video, intercom, tally and RS-422 remote control are also supported over the link. Ethernet I/O at both transmitter and receiver creates a wireless bridge to support an IP camera feed, remote controller or other data link.
