TV2 Denmark digitises historic content with NOA

NOA provided a solution running on standard COTS hardware, including the jobDB archive workflow management system along with ingestLINE and actLINE tools

NOA has announced the completion of a project to enable digitisation of TV2 Denmark’s archive.

Aiming to preserve the broadcaster’s archive of around 60,000 Betacam cassettes, NOA has provided a solution at TV 2’s Odense facility, running on standard COTS hardware, including the jobDB archive workflow management system along with ingestLINE and actLINE tools.

Implementing professional-grade quality control, NOA’s on-prem process eliminated the need for physical transportation of material, safeguarding the broadcaster’s historic content, said the company.

Josephine Beck Høpner, project manager at TV 2 Denmark, said, “We are thrilled to implement an efficient digitisation platform that will preserve our 60,000 Betacam and DigiBeta carriers. NOA’s professional solution integrates seamlessly with our existing IT infrastructure, enabling us to leverage our internal resources for a high-quality, error-free digital conversion.”

Commenting on the TV 2 project – the company’s third Scandinavian client for its process – Manuel Corn, sales director for NOA, said, “We are proud to expand our footprint in the Scandinavian region, building on successful digitisation projects with Swedish (SRF) and Finnish (YLE) broadcasters. Our robust framework of jobDB, ingestLINE, and actLINE enables rapid deployment within days, leveraging our extensive experience in archive technology. With a proven track record of digitising over 5 million hours of audiovisual material across global digitisation centres, we are uniquely positioned to deliver comprehensive archival solutions.”

The companies have agreed a service-oriented approach aligning with a multi-year operational timeframe.
