Dejero debuts Windows-based mobile news app, Teradek launches new streaming encoder, and more

TVBEurope rounds up the latest products from Dejero, Teradek and NewTek

Dejero has added a new Windows-based news app to its Dejero LivePlus offering.

LivePlus for Windows allows anchors and journalists working from home or from any remote location with a wired or wireless broadband connection to transmit high-quality, live video while simultaneously receiving two ultra-low latency return video and/or teleprompter feeds, all with a laptop.

The all-in-one solution enables the presenter to keep their eyes towards the camera at all times whilst viewing teleprompter and live programme feeds.

It transmits high-quality, low-latency video with a live stream of up to 20 Mbps, at a latency as low as 0.8 seconds, from a Windows laptop, typically in a home-studio setting.

Users can employ Dejero’s patented and integrated Smart Blending Technology to blend Ethernet with a Wi-Fi connection.

Teradek launches Vidiu X encoder

Teradek has released a new HD streaming encoder which uses H.264 video compression to capture and encode live video and broadcast it in HD to streaming platforms like Facebook Live, YouTube Live, Twitch, and Ustream.

The Vidiu X encoder is aimed at streamers seeking 1080p video resolution and is HDMI-compatible with cameras, switchers, and media players.

NewTek Sparks 12G-SDI over Ethernet

NewTek has added the Spark Plus IO 12G-SDI to its range of converters.

It can encode and decode 12G-SDI sources to and from IP-friendly NDI at up to 2160p ultra high-definition for greater resolution, frame rates, and colour fidelity.

“With Spark Plus IO 12G-SDI we are able to support the full spectrum of video production needs with the groundbreaking benefits of NDI to save producers time and money while opening up new creative possibilities,” said Barbara Spicek, president of NewTek. “This new product serves to cement the NewTek and Vizrt Group commitment to build products that allow our customers to make more stories, better told.”
