Accedo launches next-gen Cloud platform, Germany’s M7 expands UHD offering, and more

TVBEurope rounds up the latest product and tech news from Accedo, M7 and Red Bee

Accedo is launching a new next-generation Cloud platform, Accedo One.

The SaaS solution enables global companies to deliver video across multiple devices.

According to the company, Accedo One provides broadcasters, content owners, and brands with the freedom to build, launch, and scale high-quality video streaming services and “offers them an opportunity to manage the complexity of their business in one place.”

At launch the platform already has a number of key partners, including Akamai, Brightcove, Irdeto, Limelight Networks and Verimatrix.

Accedo One also includes an editor for content curation and UI management. Additional features include access to premium native apps and customisable UX experiences. According to the company, Accedo One is already powering 80 million consumer devices.

Germany’s M7 expands UHD channel offering

Germany’s M7 has expanded its Ultra HD portfolio with the launch of Travelxp 4K HDR.

The channel is now available to network and platform operators in German-speaking markets worldwide.

“We are excited about this attractive new addition to our UHD line-up: Travelxp 4K brings foreign cultures and exotic locations directly into the living room and enables viewers to experience destinations far away, particularly now that travelling is difficult,” said Christian Heinkele, managing director of Eviso Germany GmbH, business partner of M7 in Germany.

“Travel reports and landscape images are the perfect examples of content where excellent TV/video resolution and powerful distribution infrastructures are essential. This is a great opportunity for public utility companies, network operators and fibre-optic providers to show what their networks are capable of.”

Red Bee provides channel distribution services for Youfone

Red Bee is now providing channel distribution services for the Dutch independent telecom provider Youfone via its “Channel Store.”

The “Channel Store” is a global signal aggregation and distribution platform where live content is aggregated from multiple sources over Red Bee’s global network, including internal and external Playout sources, fixed-line fibre connections, web streams, secure internet delivery and satellite down-link through Red Bee’s teleport facilities.

It currently features over 1000 active channels and a catalogue of over 10,000. It acquires signals from over 100 suppliers and distributes channels to over 30 affiliates and counting.
