SES has announced an extension of its partnership with RTL Deutschland.

The announcement follows the launch of SES’ ASTRA 1P satellite, which aims to enable the delivery of TV content to 119 million homes across Europe.
Covering the distribution of SD, HD and UHD TV channels via SES’ prime TV neighbourhood at 19.2 degrees East, the agreement provides viewers in Germany and Austria with access to all RTL Deutschland’s TV offering, said the company.
SES will now also provide the broadcaster with uplinking services from its facilities in Munich and Betzdorf, Luxembourg.
Norbert Hölzle, global head of media at SES, said, “Our extended partnership with RTL Deutschland underpins the importance of satellite in delivering content cost effectively, whether in SD, HD or UHD, to the 18 million satellite TV households in Germany and Austria and enabling them to continue enjoying RTL Deutschland’s diverse programming in the quality they prefer.”
