Mediaset is expected to announce plans to unify its free and paid-for streaming apps into one platform.
According to Reuters, Mediaset Play Infinity is set to launch in April.
The broadcast drama and entertainment content is likely to be included in the free part of the streamer, with a subscription area dedicated to UEFA Champions League matches. The platform could also host third-party pay channels.
In January, Mediaset confirmed it had secured a deal for non-exclusive Italian streaming rights to air 104 Champions League games annually, paying a reported €45 million per season for the three-year contract, which runs until the end of the 2023/24 campaign.
Mediaset has not commented on the report.
