Redge Technologies has delivered its largest streaming project to date, simultaneously delivering traffic across three of its VDP regions for the first time.
In what the company said was “record-breaking Content Delivery Network (CDN) performance”, a peak of 6.3 Tbps was reached during the FIFA World Cup Final. In a first for Redge, record-level traffic was sustained across Poland, Israel and France at once.
Redge Technologies launched 4K / H.265 / HDR streaming in production for the Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation (KAN), also deploying its proprietary Multi-CDN solution, CDN Selector, at scale for the same client. Three CDNs delivered around 3 Tbps of combined traffic through a combination of two Redge CDN instances and AWS CloudFront. A new version of its CDN infrastructure reached a peak load of 150 Gbps from a single node.
Support for a range of clients was provided during the tournament, including Play (Play Now), TVP (TVP VoD), WP (WP Pilot), TVN (player.pl), and IPBC (KAN), said the company. Each user generated their highest ever traffic volumes, with zero critical incidents recorded across any match throughout the competition. Traffic was protected by Redge Guardian across all CDN nodes.
Kan’s digital platforms, including Kan BOX, the Kan app and website, logged approximately 5.4 million views during the Final alone, with peak concurrent usage reaching around 410,000 devices—the broadcaster’s highest ever recorded.
