Big Blue Marble has announced it will showcase the latest developments for its Nakolos 5G Broadcast platform at IBC2026, including a demonstration of its “world first” seamless switching between 5G Broadcast and Media over QUIC (MoQ).
Highlighting how its approach aims to simplify the deployment of 5G Broadcast technologies in real-world scenarios, the company, in collaboration with partners TREDESS, SYES and Bitstem, will demonstrate one-to-many distribution with MoQ for flexible, ultra-low-latency delivery.
Removing the necessity for broadcast and broadband stream to be run continuously in parallel, the MoQ delivery path can be activated on demand using Nakolos. MoQ delivers media with end-to-end latency less than a second. When broadcast is available, the same content can be delivered to audiences without generating individual broadband traffic for each viewer, said the company. The model offers resilient and bandwidth efficient delivery to support live sports, events and critical information services.
