Spanish, French and Italian associations agree to drive UHD adoption in Europe

The collaboration aims to promote widespread UHD rollout across the continent, positioning Europe as a global leader in audiovisual innovation

The UHD Spain Association, France’s FAVN and the UHD Forum Italy have signer a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote UHD in Europe.

The three organisations aim to form a strategic collaboration to develop and implement advanced technologies across the media and entertainment industries.

Focusing on cooperation, training and the promotion of innovation, the MoU outlines activities designed to facilitate the sharing of knowledge. The agreement will generate best practice guidelines, implement joint training programmes and promote the exchange of information to enable technical tests and pilots.

Unifying under the agreement, the three associations will coordinate on regulatory, standardisation and promotional matters, aiming to ensure European policies support the adoption of UHD and position Europe as a leader in audiovisual innovation.

The collaboration reaffirms the associations’ commitment to innovation at a time when the adoption of UHD is enabling new technologies such as HDR and AI-powered personalisation. It aims to establish UHD as the global standard for content production and distribution, driving connection, innovation and sustainability throughout the media and entertainment industry.
