Sky Sports has revealed new features in its coverage of the 2025/6 Premier League season, which kicks off on Friday.
The broadcaster’s rights deal means that it will air a minimum of 215 matches during the new season, which include “displaced” Sunday matches (when a team has had its game rescheduled due to its involvement in another competition).
Sky Sports is introducing a new Multiview option for Sunday matches so that fans can stream up to four games at the same time, available across all Sky TV platforms, NOW and the Sky Sports app, featuring every live match concurrently. The broadcaster describes Multiview as a “dynamic format that moves from ground to ground covering all the goals and big moments, complete with dedicated commentary and half-time analysis”. It will sit alongside all games available to watch individually.
The broadcaster has also partnered with Fanalysis to provide viewers with supporter-driven player ratings, manager verdicts, and perspectives as part of its live match build-up, post-match reaction and across Sky Sports News. Fans will also have access to instant vertical highlights in the Sky Sports app for the first time.
Sky is also launching a new fan-first interactive discussion show hosted by Tom White, which will air between 10am and 12pm, Monday to Friday, spotlighting supporter views and pundit opinions. New technology will bring fans closer to the debate with contributions from WhatsApp voice notes integrated into the broadcast, said the company.
Speaking about the plans, chief sports officer for Sky, Jonathan Licht, said: “This is a landmark season for Sky Sports and the Premier League. We’re introducing new innovations like Multiview, new programmes like Super Sunday: Extra Time, and a new look schedule for Sky Sports News. From the moment the season kicks off, we’ll be helping fans stay across all the biggest stories and making sure they never miss a moment of the action.”
Sky is also introducing a range of new features to Sky Glass and Sky Stream throughout this season, including on-screen match reminders across any channels in the TV guide for live sport. Fans will also be able to watch a game from the start if they’ve missed the beginning or replay the full match after the final whistle – both these updates will also be coming to Sky Q soon, said the broadcaster.
