Disney Plus predicted to hit 220+ million subscribers by 2024

Would be almost four times Disney's own subscriber target

A leading US analyst has predicted Disney Plus could hit almost four times the company’s own target for subscribers by 2024.

Analyst Michael Morris from Guggenheim Securities is predicting the new streaming service will reach 226 million subscribers worldwide by 2024.

Disney itself has set a goal of 60-90 million subscribers by the end of 2024.

Morris said he had raised his subscriber forecast for Disney Plus “to reflect the company’s announcement of 50 million global Disney Plus subscribers as of April 8.”

He had originally estimated the SVoD to reach 135 million subscribers in the timeframe. He raised his prediction for US-based subscribers from 59 million to 74 million and his international user prediction from 76 million to 153 million.

“For comparison, we forecast that Netflix will have 292 million global paying subscribers by year-end 2024, up from 167 million at the end of 2019,” Morris said.
